Dear Betsy Marks
Thank you for email as below.
I will post it to my blog, immediately. I request however a further response from you.
  1. Kindly advise whether those promulgating the improper / illegal / anti semitic protests have had their accreditation from your university withdrawn?
  2. If not – then kindly advise whether there was any sanction taken against them.
  3. If your response is that their identity remains obscure or ill – defined to you – kindly advise what steps you have taken to take to identify them.
  4. Perhaps you have taken steps to show CCTV images to the police – advising them to take action in the way the police would if you lodged an official complaint.
  5. Kindly advise if you suspect any of those you will / should / could / did / did not take action / sanction against were trespassing on your esteemed university’s premises. In which case – kindly advise whether you could kindly take additional steps to ensure that only those who have a legitimate reason for being on university grounds are indeed allowed on said grounds?
  6. To avoid anyone reading my blog – getting the impression that David Gonski and those in charge of your esteemed university are not doing everything in their power to avoid any replication of the BDS et al obscenities – kindly respond didactically to my concerns. That too will be posted on my blog to do the right thing by your esteemed university.
  7. Kindly note that the word sanction has pathetically two diametrically opposed meanings. Please keep this in mind when you consider your position / response.
  8. Kindly write to Dan Avnon advising him – that unlike the University of Sydney – he is welcome to partake of your grounds.
  9. I am sending a cc of this to the two people in charge of Sydney Uni – in case they wish to make any comments.
  10. Perhaps the esteemed gentlemen all will appreciate an opportunity to respond to any unfair comments resident in this document or on my blogs? Indeed they may consider advising me that that they will here onward all BDS and Peace Studies entities will cease at their esteemed uni? The esteemed gentlemen should contemplate belatedly responding to my email as below.
I look forward to all you esteemed gentlemen – and or ladies = responding very soon.
Yours Sincerely
Geoff Seidner

Dear Mr Seidner
Then University sent a statement to the Australian on Tuesday morning which the Australian failed to print. We published it to the UNSW Newsroom site at http://newsroom.unsw.edu.au/news/general/statement-re-anti-semitic-commentary-and-max-brenner-protest should you care to read it. The Australian made mention of our statement today in an article entitled “Protests lack link to Israel: BDS fan”.
Your sincerely

Subject: Jewish David Gonski remains silent
David Adler Letters 1/5 asks about why Chancellor David Gonski has remained silent about the anti semitic BDS evolving under his watch.
‘’This is the campus which has as its Chancellor the architect of the federal government's education reforms, David Gonski. I have yet to hear him make a statement on this matter’’.

Gonski is Jewish.

I note that the three wonderful writers in The Oz today are probably not - and have plainly moral strictures as their guide.

Speak up, Professor - tour silence id deafening.

Or will someone have to drag you into court when the boycoteers are held to account?

Statement re anti-Semitic commentary and Max Brenner protest

30 April 2013
The University of New South Wales deplores all forms of racism and discrimination and condemns in the strongest possible terms the virulent anti-Semitic comments made on social media in relation to the opening of a Max Brenner shop on campus.
We are sure the University’s student body is also horrified and offended by such statements, which to our knowledge have been posted on social media sites external to the University.
We would hope that the organisers of today’s protest would reject these comments categorically.
The University supports and encourages the free expression of diverse views and open debate on campus but it must be lawful, respectful and responsible, as spelt out in the UNSW Codes of Conduct for staff and students.
As the University has previously stated, the fit-out of the Max Brenner outlet is underway and it will be open by early June.
