Of Polls and Push - Polling

The reader of this screed should be aware of the term 'Push - Polling, My previous posting may largely explain it. It is not my intention to explain something that google can easily do.

It is understood that it is very difficult to do polling that can be seen as being free of bias.

Even with this knowledge the public may be unaware of problems.
I list these 'problems' without much planning / aforethought.

The best pollsters use responsible people to phone you. Otherwise these people can selectively phone people in given areas on sensitive issues at dinner time, resulting in annoyance.

Say the questions are:
 Do you trust Romney?
Do you trust Romney or Obama?

Or - what about -
 Are you a committed supporter of the party you support?
This is an important question - indeed The Gallup Poll uses it to adantage - perhaps that is the reason why there are at times significant variations between pollsters. I tend =to support Gallup - and am writing to them for information general and specific to USA.
