Fast bowlers crippled: Australian Institute of Sports need lesson from
me!
Contemplate injury – plagued young Aussie fast bowlers – and what they
could learn from the wonderful ‘poetic’ bowling action of the late Ron Gaunt who
played merely 3 tests in the 1950s to 1960s.
He was Merv Hughes’ mentor.
Cummins, Patterson et al should be told that putting all that weight /
stress on their front foot – that brutal last step - has been the cause of
their chronic injuries.
They are potentially far greater prospects than Gaunt ever was – yet
copying his bowling action might enable them to have a career!
Their speed may slow by 3% – but what would i know?
I have merely common sense on my side and no sporting or physics
experience.
My fee for this gratuitous advice is nix. Better value than the AIS!
